Lying on the south western edge of Outer London and straddling the River Wandle, the borough of Sutton comprises a number of districts such as Cheam, Carshalton and, of course, Sutton town itself.
As a borough Sutton is primarily suburban and can boast some spectacular countryside and historic architecture but, having said this, there are plenty of retail and leisure opportunities for the day-tripper to enjoy too.
All of the major urban centres in the borough have bustling high streets with all the main retail names, and several large shopping centres also ply their trade in the area. Sutton also has two theatres of note with varied programs on offer - something for everyone.
Home to around 1500 acres of parkland offering all conceivable sporting and leisure facilities, Sutton is very much a green borough with many tranquil spots to escape the rat-race to.
